CWS Roof Replacement & Installation in Westchester: What to Know First

CWS roof replacement and installation in Westchester typically runs between $9,800 and $22,000 depending on roof size, material choice, and whether we’re doing a tear-off or overlay. Most full replacements take two to four working days once materials land, and we quote fixed pricing so the number on your estimate is the number on your final invoice. Ed Winslow has been putting roofs over Westchester homes since 2011, and as an independent CWS service provider, we work on the roof itself while keeping your CWS windows, doors, and flashing details intact and watertight. If your CWS home needs a new roof, call (863) 251-5864 and a real person picks up, any hour, any day.

How CWS Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

We see the same failure patterns crop up on CWS-equipped homes across Westchester, from the older ranch blocks near Tropical Park to the newer builds south of Bird Road. Here’s what actually goes wrong and what we do about it.

  • CWS casement and awning window flashing leaks at the roof line. On CWS casement windows installed under low eaves, the original flashing often wasn’t stepped correctly where the roof deck meets the window head. Years of Westchester downpours drive water behind the nailing flange, and by the time the homeowner sees a ceiling stain, the sheathing is already soft. When we replace the roof, we pull the old flashing, inspect the CWS frame for rot, and reflash with proper step flashing and a kick-out diverter so water clears the window entirely.
  • CWS sliding glass door headers show moisture intrusion after roof replacement by other crews. This is one we fix a lot. A roofing crew that doesn’t know CWS door geometry will strip the old roof, bang new underlayment over the door header, and call it done. Then the first heavy storm forces water under the drip edge and into the CWS door’s top track. We pull the first two courses, install peel-and-stick membrane up the wall behind the door flange, and reinstall the drip edge so it laps over, not under, the CWS frame.
  • CWS fixed picture windows with integral mullions develop perimeter seal failure at the roof junction. The mullion joints on CWS fixed units are tough, but the perimeter sealant at the top of the frame ages faster when the roof above traps heat against it. Westchester’s sun cooks south-facing dormers, the sealant shrinks, and water tracks down the interior wall. During a roof replacement, we remove the old sealant down to clean aluminum, check the CWS frame for corrosion, and reseal with a commercial-grade polyurethane that flexes with thermal movement.
  • Improper roof-to-wall transitions at CWS geometric window bays. CWS geometric windows, those angled bays and trapezoids, need the roofer to actually think about how shingles terminate against the frame. We’ve seen roofs where the shingles were just butt-cut against the CWS frame with no counterflashing. It leaks inside a year. We install metal counterflashing tucked into the CWS frame’s accessory groove wherever it exists, or we fabricate a clean reglet and seal it properly.
  • Roof deck rot hidden under old flashing at CWS impact window corners. CWS impact windows are heavy, and on older Westchester homes the original frame anchors were set into roof-adjacent framing that was never flashed well at the corners. By the time we tear off, there’s often a fist-sized patch of rot at one or two corners. We cut out the bad wood, sister in new framing, and rebuild the corner so the CWS window sits on solid stock with new flashing lapped correctly under the roof membrane.

Our CWS Roof Replacement & Installation Process

Here’s how a typical CWS roof replacement goes with us, start to finish.

  1. 1
You call (863) 251-5864. A live person answers, not a recording. We ask about your roof, your CWS windows and doors, and any leaks you’ve noticed. We schedule a free estimate.
  2. 2
We walk the property with you. Ed or a senior tech inspects the roof, the CWS window and door intersections, the flashing, the deck, and the attic if accessible. We take photos and show you exactly what we’re seeing.
  3. 3
We write a fixed, line-item quote. You get exact numbers for tear-off, deck repair, underlayment, materials, flashing, and disposal. No allowances, no change orders unless you ask us to add scope.
  4. 4
We decide on parts together. For roof materials we use proven brands and explain your shingle, tile, or metal options. For the CWS flashing and sealing components, we use OEM-compatible or better materials that won’t void your CWS window or door warranty.
  5. 5
We do the work. Tear-off, deck repair, underlayment, roof install, and meticulous flashing at every CWS window and door intersection. Background-checked, uniformed crew on site every day. Site is cleaned daily.
  6. 6
We test and stand behind it. We water-test the flashings, inspect every transition with you if you want, and every job carries the 36500-Day Done Right Promise. If it’s not done right, we come back and make it right. Period.

What CWS Roof Replacement & Installation Costs in Westchester

Here’s honest pricing for the most common CWS-home roof scenarios we handle in Westchester:

  • Standard shingle tear-off and replacement, 1,800-2,200 sq ft: $9,800-$14,500
  • Architectural shingle upgrade, same footprint: $11,500-$16,800
  • Tile roof replacement, 2,000-2,400 sq ft: $18,000-$26,000
  • Standing seam metal roof, 1,800-2,200 sq ft: $19,500-$28,000
  • Flashing repair and reseal at CWS window/door intersections only: $450-$1,200 per opening
  • Deck repair (rot removal, sistering, replacement): $8-$14 per sq ft of affected area

What moves the price: roof pitch (steeper costs more), number of penetrations, how much flashing work your CWS windows and doors need, and whether the deck is sound. We give every Westchester homeowner a free estimate with fixed numbers, and there’s no trip charge inside our home county. Call (863) 251-5864 to schedule yours.

Why Westchester Homeowners Call Winslow Windows & Doors for CWS Work

Westchester has no shortage of roofing companies, but most of them don’t understand the window-and-door side of the structure. We do. We’ve been installing and servicing CWS, PGT, CGI, ES Windows, and ECO Window Systems on Westchester homes for years, and we know how a roof has to terminate against those specific frames so water stays outside where it belongs. Ed Winslow’s name is on the business, and the 36500-Day Done Right Promise means if we don’t get it right, we make it right, no expiration, no fine print. Calls are answered by a live person 24/7. Techs are background-checked and uniformed. You get upfront pricing, a $40 discount on any repair over $200, a free second opinion on any written estimate, and a permanent 10% discount for seniors and veterans. We’re the one down the road, and we answer when you call.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"The old aluminium sliders howled every afternoon storm and swelter came straight through the glass. The new impact sliders shut with a sound like a bank vault and the back rooms finally hold their temperature."

PPercival Whitcombe
★★★★★

"We sat out a hurricane behind the windows Ed put in. The gusts threw a neighbour's trampoline down the street and the loudest thing in our house was the kettle. I rang him after to say thank you and he answered his own phone, same as always."

TThaddeus Okonkwo
★★★★★

"He replaced the front door and the garage door in the same week, both rated for impact, and lined the frames up so straight my level had nothing to say. My wife stopped hearing the highway from the front room."

MMaximilian Vasquez
★★★★

"Excellent work and a fair price for what it is, though impact glass is never cheap and one bedroom window arrived with a scratched pane. Ed flagged it before I saw it and the replacement went in without me chasing anyone."

BBartholomew Crenshaw
★★★★★

"Ed measured every opening himself and walked me through the product approval paperwork before I signed anything. When the inspector came he found the notice of acceptance taped inside a window like it should be and passed us first visit."

RRosalind Beaumont
★★★★

"The installation was clean and the windows are beautiful. The factory took about six weeks to deliver the units, which Ed told me upfront, but living behind plywood-framed openings in the meantime still tested my patience."

GGuadalupe Zamorano
★★★★★

"A tile roof repair and new windows from the same company meant one crew, one permit runner, and nobody blaming the other trade. Ed checked the roof work himself before the tarp came off."
